Bee Cave is one of my favorite areas to work in — it’s about 15 miles west of downtown Austin along Highway 71, close enough for an easy commute but far enough to feel like Hill Country. You get Lake Travis ISD schools, communities like Falconhead, Spanish Oaks, and The Homestead, and the Hill Country Galleria for everyday shopping and dining without having to drive back into the city. Take a look at the current Bee Cave listings below, and reach out if you want my take on a specific street or neighborhood.
I’m Robbie English, a broker with Uncommon Realty here in Austin.
Living in Bee Cave
Bee Cave sits in the 78738 zip code, in west-central Travis County, with State Highway 71 and RM 2244 (Bee Caves Road) as the main routes in and out. It’s home to about 9,100 people, and the Hill Country Galleria at Bee Cave Road and Highway 620 anchors most of the day-to-day shopping — grocery, restaurants, and a mix of local and national retailers, all a few minutes from most neighborhoods here. Kids in Bee Cave are zoned to Lake Travis ISD, including Bee Cave Elementary and Bee Cave Middle School.
Housing options in Bee Cave
The housing stock ranges from golf-course homes in Falconhead, to the gated, guard-staffed Spanish Oaks with its private 18-hole course, to larger-lot, Mediterranean-style estates in The Homestead. You’ll also find newer builds and smaller lots closer to Highway 71 for buyers who want Bee Cave’s location without the acreage. If you’re comparing it to nearby areas, I also work a lot in Lakeway and Westlake — both worth a look if you want more lake access or a shorter drive into central Austin — and I can pull up Bee Cave condos if a smaller footprint fits better. Happy to walk through what’s currently available or set up a time to talk through your search.
