Oak Ridge is an established Leander neighborhood in Williamson County, built out mostly in the 1980s and ’90s with single-story homes ranging from around 1,500 to 2,600 square feet. It’s zoned to Leander ISD and sits close to 183A, so getting into the rest of the metro is straightforward without living on top of the highway.
I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty, and I’ve helped buyers and sellers move through Oak Ridge and the surrounding Leander neighborhoods.
What Oak Ridge offers
Oak Ridge has a voluntary HOA, and the neighborhood amenities have been kept up well — there’s a park, a playground that’s been recently renovated, a pool with added security cameras, and a basketball/tennis area within walking distance for most residents. Because most homes were built in the same 15-year window, you’re looking at fairly consistent lot sizes and layouts, with the differences coming down to updates and additions rather than wildly different floor plans.
Leander’s growth around it
Leander has been one of the fastest-growing cities in the Austin metro for years now, and Oak Ridge sits close enough to 183A to benefit from that growth — new retail and restaurants keep landing along the corridor — without the neighborhood itself getting torn up for new development, since it was built out decades ago. That combination of established streets with newer conveniences nearby is a big part of the draw for buyers who want mature trees and settled landscaping but don’t want to feel cut off from what’s opening around them.
Buying or selling in Oak Ridge
Since this is an older, established neighborhood, kitchen and bath updates matter more here for resale than they would in new construction — I can tell you which upgrades are actually paying off in Oak Ridge right now versus which ones aren’t moving the needle. If you want to compare it to a newer build nearby, Alterra is worth a look, or browse Leander homes for sale more broadly to see the full range of what’s on the market.
If you’re selling, buyers looking at Oak Ridge are usually cross-shopping it against other established Leander neighborhoods, not new construction — so pricing needs to reflect that comparison set specifically, not a generic Leander average.
Search all current homes for sale, get pre-approved before you shop, or schedule a buyer consultation whenever you’re ready.
