78723 covers a stretch of East Austin that includes the Mueller development, Windsor Park, University Hills, and Coronado Hills. Mueller and the rest of 78723
Mueller was built on the site of the old Robert Mueller Municipal Airport and is the newest, most planned part of the ZIP code — about 20% of the development is dedicated parkland, and Mueller Lake Park, with its 2.6-mile loop trail around the lake, is the anchor of the neighborhood. Outside of Mueller, homes in Windsor Park, University Hills, and Coronado Hills skew older, mostly mid-century ranch homes on bigger lots than you’ll find in the newer build.
Parks and getting around
Dottie Jordan Neighborhood Park, with its pool, tennis courts, and recreation center, is another anchor for the area outside of Mueller proper. 78723 sits close to US 290 and Airport Blvd, which makes for a reasonably direct trip into downtown or north toward the airport, though I always tell buyers to drive their specific commute at the actual time they’d be making it before assuming a distance on a map tells the whole story.
