Westover Hills sits in Northwest Austin, between Northwest Hills and the MoPac corridor, close enough to downtown for an easy commute but far enough out to feel like Hill Country living. I send buyers here when they want mature trees, larger lots, and some quiet without giving up quick access to the city.

Schools and getting around
Westover Hills is zoned to Austin ISD, with kids typically attending Hill Elementary, Murchison Middle School, and Anderson High School — Hill and Anderson both carry an A rating from Niche, and Murchison an A-minus, which makes this one of the stronger school assignments on this side of town. The neighborhood is close to major highways for an easy drive downtown, and about 10 minutes from the Domain and the Arboretum shopping area. Bull Creek District Park is right nearby too, if you want hiking and trails close to home.
Housing options in Westover Hills
Most of Westover Hills was built out in the 1960s and 70s, so you’ll see a lot of ranch-style homes mixed with more contemporary builds and remodels, many on lots with mature live oaks and quiet cul-de-sacs. There’s no neighborhood HOA, though the members-only Westover Hills Club — tennis and pickleball courts, a heated pool, and a gym — is a central gathering spot for a lot of residents here. Because the housing stock is older, I always walk buyers through what’s original versus renovated before they write an offer, since that can move the price significantly on an otherwise similar-looking street.
