Leander is one of the fastest-growing cities in Williamson County, and it’s a market where a pool is genuinely common rather than a rare upgrade — new-construction communities out here are built with big backyards and pool-ready lots. The 183A Toll Road runs right through town, and Capital Metro’s Red Line commuter rail has its northern terminus at Leander Station, so it’s an easy option if you want a Leander backyard and still need to get downtown without driving the whole way. Most of Leander falls under Leander ISD.

Where pool homes show up in Leander
I see the most pool inventory in Leander’s newer master-planned neighborhoods, like Westwood and Mason Creek, where builders put in bigger lots than you’ll typically find closer to Austin. If you’re open to a slightly different city with the same amenity, Liberty Hill is right next door and has its own growing supply of pool homes.
What to check on a Leander pool home before you offer
Leander sits right where the Blackland Prairie’s clay soil gives way to Edwards Plateau limestone, and that split matters for a pool. On the flatter, eastern side of town the reactive clay shifts with moisture and can put real stress on a pool shell and deck over the years, while newer construction out toward Crystal Falls and other western neighborhoods tends to sit on rockier, more stable ground. Either way, I want to know the age of the pool, whether it was permitted, and whether it was built with the house or added later — that last detail changes what I’d expect an inspector to flag.
Budget for the ongoing cost too. Between chemicals, equipment repairs, and an eventual resurfacing job, a pool adds a real recurring expense on top of the mortgage — nothing that should scare you off, just something to build into your monthly number before you write an offer.
