Pecan Creek is one of the newer, smaller communities in Leander — 200 homes, built exclusively by Gehan Homes between 2013 and 2018, sitting right at the Ronald Reagan Blvd and RM 1431 corridor. That location is the draw: you’re a few minutes from Timberline West and the rest of central Leander, with an easier reach to shopping and Leander ISD schools than you’d get further out.
I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty, and I’ve sold homes in Pecan Creek and most of the Leander communities around it.
What Pecan Creek actually is
Because Gehan Homes built the whole community in one stretch, Pecan Creek doesn’t have the mismatched mix of eras you find in some Leander neighborhoods — expect large kitchens opening to the family room, center islands, and tree-lined sidewalks that have had close to a decade to fill in. Homes here run larger than what’s being built new in Leander today, which is worth knowing if square footage matters more to you than brand-new finishes.
How Pecan Creek compares to its neighbors
If Pecan Creek doesn’t have what you need, I’d point you next toward North Creek Ranch for an older, more established lot mix, or Mason Creek if newer construction matters more than lot size. For the full range of what’s available across Leander right now, the Leander homes for sale page is a better starting point than any single subdivision.
What a single-builder community means for you as a buyer
One thing I point out to buyers looking at Pecan Creek: because a single builder finished the whole neighborhood in a five-year window, you’re not going to find the odd, mismatched additions or DIY renovations that show up in older, multi-builder Leander subdivisions. That consistency cuts both ways — less surprise on inspection, but also less differentiation between homes beyond lot position and upgrades chosen at the time of purchase. I’d rather walk you through the specific floor plan and upgrade history on a Pecan Creek listing than let a photo tour do that work for you, especially since HOA dues and neighborhood amenities can still differ slightly depending on which phase of the community a given home was built in.
