Ridgewood North sits on the northwest side of Block House Creek in Leander, tucked in below Westview Meadows, with Crystal Falls Parkway forming the line between it and Ridgewood South. It’s a small, quiet pocket — around 200 residents by the last Census count — with tree-lined streets and mature oaks that give it a settled feel most newer Leander subdivisions don’t have yet. If you’re comparing it to some of the bigger master-planned communities elsewhere in Leander, the scale here is really the whole point: a small handful of streets, light traffic, and a neighborhood that still feels like the small town Leander used to be before the growth came in.

What it’s like living in Ridgewood North
Kids here attend Pleasant Hill Elementary, Wiley Middle, and Rouse High School, all part of Leander ISD. You’re a short drive to 183A, which makes the commute into Austin manageable without living in the thick of it. The neighborhood dates back to around 2002, with most construction wrapped up by 2005, and the dominant floor plan is a three-bedroom, mid-size layout — not the sprawling five- and six-bedroom houses you’ll see in some of Leander’s newer master-planned communities. That earlier build-out is exactly why the trees have had time to mature and why prices here tend to run a bit more reasonable than comparable square footage in a brand-new subdivision.
Nearby options if you’re comparing subdivisions
If Ridgewood North homes don’t line up with your timing, a few nearby Leander subdivisions are worth a look. Crystal Falls sits just across Crystal Falls Parkway, Crystal Crossing is close by as well, and Mason Hills is a bigger, newer community on the other side of town if you want more builder variety. For a wider view of what’s on the market across Leander, my Leander real estate page covers the whole city. I’m happy to compare a few of these side by side with you before you decide where to focus your search, including current pricing on each so you’re not comparing them on feel alone.
