Starlight Village is a small Mid-Century Modern community in Leander that stands out from the newer subdivisions around it — it was built as a planned community of 29 single-family homes, and the architecture still shows it. If that style appeals to you, it’s worth knowing this one when you’re looking at Leander.
I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty, and I can help you track when a Starlight Village home comes up for resale.
What makes Starlight Village different
Most new construction in Leander leans traditional Texas suburban. Starlight Village is the exception — a Mid-Century Modern development off Horizon Park Blvd, fully built out, so what you’ll find on the market now is resale rather than new-build inventory. The homes lean into clean lines and open layouts rather than the more ornate finishes common in newer subdivisions nearby.
The neighborhood is about 1.8 miles from the Leander Cap Metro Rail station, which puts downtown Austin within a direct commuter-rail ride if you’d rather skip the drive on 183.
Schools and location
Starlight Village is zoned to Leander ISD — Pleasant Hill Elementary, Knox Wiley Middle School, and Rouse High School. Leander itself has grown fast over the last decade, and Starlight Village’s location gives you that growth without being out on the newest, least-developed edge of it.
What to expect if you’re buying resale here
Since the development sold out, everything that comes up in Starlight Village now is a resale rather than a builder-direct purchase, which changes the buying process a bit. I check the age of major systems — roof, HVAC, water heater — a little more closely than I would on a newer build, since even a well-kept mid-2010s home is due for some of that work sooner rather than later. Lot sizes here run smaller than the larger new subdivisions further out in Leander, which is part of the trade-off for the rail proximity and architecture.
Is it the right fit?
If Mid-Century Modern architecture and rail access matter more to you than a brand-new build, Starlight Village is worth watching. Inventory here is limited since it’s a small, built-out community — I keep an eye on it for clients specifically interested in this style, so reach out if you want to be notified when something comes up.
