Bar W Ranch is a newer master-planned community in Leander built on roughly 500 acres of former ranchland along the South San Gabriel River, and it’s one of the neighborhoods I get asked about most from buyers who want new construction with real amenities rather than just a subdivision sign and a mailbox cluster.
I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty, and I’ve walked a lot of buyers through Bar W Ranch homes for sale in Leander.
Builders and Home Styles
Bar W Ranch isn’t a one-builder neighborhood, which I think works in buyers’ favor — D.R. Horton, Gehan Homes, Brohn Homes, and Tri Pointe Homes have all built here, so you’ll see real variation in floor plans, price points, and finish levels instead of the same handful of layouts repeated on every block. Most homes run 3 to 5 bedrooms with 2-car garages, and I’ve seen listings anywhere from the mid-$300s up toward the low $500s depending on the builder, lot, and how recently it sold.
Amenities and Schools
The community sits along the South San Gabriel River with walking trails that follow the water, plus a fitness center, a couple of pools, a sand volleyball court, a soccer field, and outdoor grills and firepits for the amenity center. Families with kids should know Bar W Ranch is zoned to Liberty Hill ISD, not Leander ISD, even though the neighborhood address is Leander — Bar W Elementary School opened right in the neighborhood in 2023, so younger kids can walk or bike to campus.
Because it’s still an active new-construction community, inventory and pricing shift fast here. If you’re comparing it to other Leander homes for sale, I’d rather walk you through current listings directly than have you rely on a builder’s marketing page — reach out and I’ll pull what’s actually available right now.
