Bastrop TX Homes For Sale

Bastrop sits about 30 miles southeast of Austin and serves as the county seat of Bastrop County. TX-71 and TX-21 both run through town, so the drive back into Austin usually takes somewhere around 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. The Colorado River cuts through the middle of Bastrop, and the town sits in the Lost Pines, a pocket of pine forest that’s unusual for this part of Central Texas. Growth here has sped up a lot in recent years, partly because Tesla’s gigafactory sits just up the road in southeastern Travis County, and buyers priced out of Austin have been looking east and finding real value in Bastrop TX homes for sale.

I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty, and I’ve spent decades working Central Texas real estate. I’ve watched Bastrop shift from a town people drove through on the way somewhere else into a place people are choosing on purpose, and I can walk you through what that means if you’re buying or selling here.

What makes Bastrop different

Downtown Bastrop still looks like a small Texas town, with a historic Main Street and buildings that date back well over a century. Bastrop State Park and the Lost Pines give the area a different feel than most of the Hill Country or the flat land east of Austin, with pine trees mixed in among the oaks. The Colorado River runs along the edge of downtown, and it’s part of what gives Bastrop its identity as a river town rather than just another Austin suburb.

The growth story here is real. Tesla’s presence nearby has pulled in jobs, new residents, and a wave of retail and commercial development that wasn’t here a decade ago. Bastrop is still smaller and more rural in character than places like Cedar Park or Round Rock, but that’s changing as more people discover it, and home values have moved with that demand.

Home types and neighborhoods in Bastrop

You’ll find a wide mix of housing in Bastrop, from newer subdivisions to older homes closer to downtown to larger lots and acreage on the outskirts of town. Two of the neighborhoods I get asked about most are The Colony and Tahitian Village, both established subdivisions with their own character and price points. Beyond those, there’s new construction going up across several other communities as builders keep up with demand from people relocating for Tesla and other employers in the area.

Why experience matters when you’re choosing an agent

Not every agent brings the same level of preparation to a transaction. Some are part-time. Some are new. A strong personality doesn’t make up for weak negotiation skills in a multiple-offer situation.

I’ve spent decades in this business, as both an agent and a broker — holding leadership roles, mentoring other REALTORS, and speaking on the subject around the country. My team brings that same standard to every client: clear communication and honest coordination from the first showing through closing.

The Uncommon Realty difference

At Uncommon Realty, we’re not chasing volume or marketing buzzwords. Every client gets an actual plan built around their goals, not a generic checklist. When you work with me, you’re working directly with someone who’s spent years refining how this process should be done.

Finding your next home in Bastrop

Bastrop is growing fast enough that it pays to have someone watching the market closely, whether you’re trying to get into a specific neighborhood before prices move again or you’re selling and want to time it right. I can help you sort through what’s available, from established neighborhoods like The Colony and Tahitian Village to newer construction and acreage properties further out, and figure out what actually fits what you’re trying to do.
