Horseshoe Bay sits on the southern shore of Lake LBJ, split across Burnet and Llano counties along Highway 71, roughly an hour from Austin. It’s a resort community built around the Horseshoe Bay Resort’s golf courses, and single-story homes here range from resort-adjacent patio homes near the fairways to larger one-story estates on hillside lots designed to work with the terrain rather than fight it. Because the land isn’t flat, lot grading and drainage vary a lot street to street, so it’s worth walking a property in person before you fall for the photos.
Comparing your options
If you want to compare, I’d also look at Cottonwood Shores, just up the road, or Marble Falls if you want more everyday conveniences within a short drive. For view-focused buyers, I keep separate pages for Horseshoe Bay homes with a view and Marble Falls homes with a view.
