Silver Oak is a quiet, well-kept subdivision on the south side of Cedar Park, and it’s one of the neighborhoods I show buyers most often when they want a Cedar Park address without a long commute into Austin. Homes here run mostly single-family, built in the 2000s, on lots big enough for a real backyard — not the postage-stamp lots you get in some of the newer Cedar Park developments.
I am Robbie English, Managing Broker for Uncommon Realty and I would love to help you find the right property for you.
Why buyers ask about Silver Oak
Cedar Park sits in Williamson County (with a sliver in Travis County), about 21 miles north of downtown Austin, and Silver Oak is zoned to Leander ISD, one of the higher-rated districts in the Austin area. The neighborhood is a short drive to Twin Creeks and the shops and restaurants along 183A, and it’s close enough to Lakeline Mall and Lakeline Station that you’re not stuck driving 20 minutes for groceries or a train into the city.
What I like about Silver Oak specifically is that it doesn’t turn over fast. Owners tend to stay, which usually means well-maintained homes and a settled feel on the street — the kind of thing you notice on a walkthrough but can’t always find in the listing photos.
What’s typically for sale here
Silver Oak homes for sale run a fairly consistent range: three- and four-bedroom single-family homes with attached two-car garages, mostly brick or stone facades, and lots that give you real yard space. Kitchens and layouts vary by build year, so if you want an open-concept floor plan versus a more traditional divided layout, that’s worth flagging to me early so I can filter for it before we start touring.
If Silver Oak isn’t quite the fit, I’d point you toward Red Oaks or Shenandoah for a similar single-family feel, or Sunset Ridge if you’re looking at condos instead. All of them are within a few minutes of Silver Oak and each has its own personality once you’re actually in the neighborhood.
