Travisso is a master-planned community built into the Hill Country of Leander, Texas, about 30 minutes northwest of downtown Austin. It’s one of the larger new-construction communities in this part of Leander, with resort-style amenities, several national homebuilders, and homesites that range from standard production lots to elevated sites with real canyon views. Living in Travisso
Travisso sits on elevated Hill Country terrain, so the topography here is more varied than you’ll find in the flatter parts of Leander, and a number of homesites back up to real canyon views. More than 350 acres of the community are set aside as open space, with miles of hiking and biking trails running through it. The community is HOA-governed, which means dues cover upkeep of the common areas and amenity centers, and any exterior changes to a home go through the HOA’s architectural review before they happen. Most of Travisso is open access, but its Grand Mesa section is gated with its own controlled entry — worth noting this is a separate Grand Mesa from the similarly-named Grand Mesa at Crystal Falls a few miles away, so if you’re searching for a gated address, be specific about which community you mean.
The centerpiece is the Palazzo Clubhouse, a resort-style amenity campus with a pool, a splash pad, a fitness center, and pickleball and tennis courts. A second amenity center, The Forum, adds another pool along with more courts and gathering space. That level of amenity is a big part of what draws families here over some of the comparable Hill Country neighborhoods closer in to Austin.
Homes and builders
Several national builders are active in Travisso, including Drees Homes, Taylor Morrison, and Toll Brothers, which is why you’ll see a real range of architectural styles, floor plans, and price points across the community instead of one uniform product. You can find production homes that are move-in ready sitting alongside larger, more custom-feeling builds within the same neighborhood.
Travisso is within commuting distance of the northwest Austin tech corridor, so it draws a mix of buyers relocating for work and Austin-area families trading a smaller in-town lot for more space and a newer build.
Schools
Travisso is zoned to Leander ISD. Current attendance zones point to CC Mason Elementary, an IB World School, Running Brushy Middle School, and Cedar Park High School. Zoning can shift as the district grows and adds campuses, so I’d always confirm current boundaries directly with Leander ISD before you buy if schools are a deciding factor for your family.
