Pool homes in San Marcos come up often once buyers have spent a summer here — between the heat and the crowds at the river on a hot weekend, a private pool starts to look less like a luxury and more like a plan.
I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty, here in the Austin area.
Pool homes in San Marcos
San Marcos sits in Hays County along the San Marcos River and is home to Texas State University, a Tier-1 emerging research university on roughly 485 acres and the city’s largest employer. Most of San Marcos falls under San Marcos CISD, though the Blanco Vista subdivision on the north side is zoned to Hays CISD instead — worth confirming which district a specific pool listing falls in before you get attached to it.
Pool homes here run the gamut from older ranch houses with an added in-ground pool to newer construction where the pool was part of the original build. The newer builds tend to have better-integrated outdoor living space — covered patios, outdoor kitchens — since builders plan for it from the start instead of retrofitting a yard.
More ways to search
If you want to widen the search, I also keep a page for San Marcos homes for sale more broadly, and multi-family listings in San Marcos if you’re looking at an investment property instead. You can also set up free email alerts so new pool listings land in your inbox as soon as they hit the market, or browse all current listings if you want to widen your search beyond San Marcos.
Reach out anytime — I’m happy to pull current pool listings and give you my honest read on any of them.
