Included below are Allandale homes for sale.
Allandale is one of the North Central Austin neighborhoods I show buyers most often who want an established, tree-covered part of town without a Central/Hyde Park price tag. It sits between Burnet Road and MoPac, split down the middle by Shoal Creek, with a mix of 1950s and ’60s ranch homes on big lots alongside newer remodels and rebuilds.

Living in Allandale
Allandale runs from Burnet Road on the east to MoPac and Northwest Hills on the west, and from 45th Street on the south up to West Anderson Lane on the north. Beverly S. Sheffield Northwest District Park sits right along Shoal Creek in the neighborhood — it’s a 31-acre park with two pools (including an Olympic-sized pool with a high dive, one of the few left in Austin), tennis and basketball courts, and a big shaded picnic area. Burnet Road gives quick access to shopping and restaurants without leaving the neighborhood, and it’s a short drive to Central Austin or the Domain.
Schools
Allandale is in Austin ISD. Most of the neighborhood is zoned to Gullett Elementary, with the southernmost part zoned to Highland Park Elementary. All of Allandale feeds into Lamar Middle School and McCallum High School.
Housing options in Allandale
Most of the housing stock dates to the 1950s and ’60s, mid-century ranch homes on lots that tend to run larger than what you’ll find in Central Austin or Hyde Park. Some are original and untouched, others have been fully remodeled or replaced with new construction, so you’ll see a real mix of styles on the same block. Shoal Creek Boulevard runs through the middle of the neighborhood and is a good reference point when you’re comparing one part of Allandale to another — home prices and lot sizes shift a bit depending on which side of it you’re on.
