Forest Creek is a golf course community on the east side of Round Rock, built around the Forest Creek Golf Club, an 18-hole public course that has been recognized as one of the better public courses in Central Texas. Homes here were built mostly from the late 1990s through the mid-2000s by a mix of well known Austin area builders, and you will find everything from four bedroom family homes to larger estate homes on the fairways. The neighborhood sits between I-35 and Highway 130, which makes commuting into Austin or getting around Williamson County pretty easy. If you are looking at Forest Creek homes for sale, here is what you should know about living here.
I am Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty, and I work Round Rock and the surrounding Williamson County market regularly. Forest Creek comes up often with buyers who want golf course living without leaving the Austin metro, and I can walk you through which lots and floor plans in the neighborhood tend to hold their value.
Living in Forest Creek
The golf course is the heart of the neighborhood. It was originally designed by Dick Phelps, went through a full renovation in 2018, and the creek that gives the community its name comes into play on several holes. The course is owned by the City of Round Rock and open to the public, so you do not have to buy a membership to play it, though a membership does get you more access to the club facilities.
Outside of golf, residents have a resort style pool, tennis and basketball courts, several parks with picnic areas, and a network of walking and biking trails that connect through the neighborhood. Forest Creek Elementary sits inside the community itself, and the neighborhood is zoned to Round Rock ISD. With around 1,200 homes total, it is a sizeable community, but it still has a settled, established feel compared to some of the newer master planned neighborhoods going up further out in Williamson County. If you want a similar established, tree-covered feel without the golf course, Forest Ridge, over near Red Bud Lane, is another 1990s Round Rock neighborhood worth a look.
Why work with me in Forest Creek
I have spent decades in Central Texas real estate, working directly with buyers and sellers in golf-course communities like Forest Creek where lot premiums and views make a real difference in price. I can help you sort out what is actually worth paying for.
