Stewart Crossing is a single-family home community in Leander built by Meritage Homes, with midsize homes that are priced reasonably compared to a lot of what else is on the market in Leander right now. What the neighborhood is like
Meritage built most of Stewart Crossing out over the past several years, so a lot of the inventory here is newer construction, though the community itself is now mostly built out, which means fewer brand-new listings and more resale activity going forward. Homes have open-concept layouts and modern finishes typical of Meritage’s newer plans, and the neighborhood has an HOA that maintains the common areas and shared spaces, which is worth budgeting for as a monthly cost on top of your mortgage.
Leander itself has been one of the fastest-growing cities in the Austin metro for years, and Stewart Crossing benefits from that growth without sitting right in the middle of the busiest corridors. You get sidewalks, a mix of families and newer residents, and proximity to Leander’s schools, parks, and shopping without the density you’d find closer to 183A.

Because the community is largely built out, buying here now usually means competing for resale listings rather than picking from a builder’s lot map, so pricing strategy and knowing what a home has been upgraded since the original build both matter more than they would in a brand-new section.
