I help renters across the Austin area find a place that actually fits, not just whatever’s still on the market by the time they start looking. I work a rental search the same way I’d work a purchase: I read the lease before you sign it, flag anything that doesn’t match the listing, and handle the back-and-forth with the landlord or property manager directly.
I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty in Austin.
Where I Help Renters Search
Rental markets vary block by block and city by city across the Austin area, so I work all of it: East Austin’s converted bungalows and new-construction condos, Buda’s single-family inventory along the I-35 corridor, Cedar Park’s mix of golf-course neighborhoods and starter homes, Hutto’s fast-growing subdivisions near the SH 130 corridor, and Kyle’s Plum Creek and lake-adjacent rentals, along with the rest of the metro. If you already know the area you want, start there. If not, tell me your budget and commute and I’ll narrow it down.
What I Bring to a Lease Search
Landlords usually have someone representing their interests, whether that’s an agent or a property manager. Renters usually don’t, and that gap is where people end up signing leases with terms they don’t fully understand. I go through the lease with you before you sign: early termination clauses, who’s responsible for what maintenance, pet policies, and how utilities are split. If something in the listing doesn’t match what’s actually in the lease, I flag it before it becomes your problem.
