Magnolia Creek is a family-friendly neighborhood in Leander that’s been building out since the mid-2000s, with most of the current homes going up between 2013 and 2017. It’s one of the more affordable options in Leander ISD, and I show it often to buyers who’ve been priced out of Austin proper but still want a community pool and sidewalks their kids can bike on. Take a look at what’s currently on the market below.
I’m Robbie English, a broker with Uncommon Realty here in the Austin area.
Living in Magnolia Creek
The neighborhood was originally started by American Premiere Homes before D.R. Horton bought out the remaining lots and kept building, so you’ll see a mix of styles depending on the section and the build year. Homes here run from about 1,500 to just under 2,900 square feet, averaging around 2,200 square feet — solidly a starter-to-second-home range rather than luxury. Kids zone into Leander ISD, and the neighborhood has its own community pool, which is one of the bigger draws for families with young kids in the summer.
Nearby options
If Magnolia Creek’s price point works but you want more room to grow into, I’d also have you look at Mesa Vista Estates or Leander Crossing, both nearby Leander neighborhoods with larger lots. And if you want to see what’s on the higher end of the Leander market for comparison, my Luxury Homes For Sale Leander TX page covers that.
