Taylor’s growth is being driven in large part by Samsung’s $17 billion semiconductor plant, one of the largest single foreign investments in Texas history, expected to bring roughly 1,800 direct jobs to the area, with additional phases of construction already underway. That growth has pulled in national and regional builders putting up new subdivisions, and pools have become a more common standard feature as those builders compete for buyers relocating for the plant and its supplier network. Taylor sits in southeast Williamson County at the junction of US 79 and SH 95, about 34 miles northeast of downtown Austin, and most of the city is zoned to Taylor ISD.

What to know before you buy a pool home here

A pool changes a few things about how I approach a purchase for a client. I check whether the home sits in an HOA with its own pool or fencing rules, confirm the pool’s age and when it was last resurfaced, and make sure a pool inspection is part of the option period rather than an afterthought — repairs to a pump, liner, or decking can run into real money if they’re missed before closing. It’s also worth asking your insurance carrier how a pool affects your policy, since pricing isn’t always the same as it is for a comparable home without one. None of that should scare you off a pool home, it just means the inspection and negotiation need to account for it.
