Indulge in Opulence: A Guide to Luxury Malls and Stores in Austin, Texas

Austin is known for its eclectic, artsy character, so people are sometimes surprised at how much high-end shopping is here too. Between upscale boutiques, designer stores, and a couple of genuinely lavish malls, Austin has quietly built a real luxury shopping scene. Here’s a guide to the luxury malls and stores in Austin, Texas.

I am Robbie English, REALTOR and Managing Broker at Uncommon Realty, and shopping is one of the things clients ask me about when they’re considering a move here, so let’s get into it.

Indulge in Opulence: A Guide to Luxury Malls and Stores in Austin, Texas

1. The Domain – Where Fashion Meets Elegance:

The Domain, in north-central Austin, is the city’s clearest statement about upscale shopping. This open-air center has a solid lineup of luxury brands, from high-end fashion houses to fine jewelry stores. Walk the palm-lined streets and you’ll find labels like Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus, and Tiffany & Co. Add in the upscale dining and stylish boutiques, and it’s an easy few hours whether you’re shopping or just browsing.

2. Barton Creek Square – A Shopper’s Paradise:

If you want a bigger shopping trip, Barton Creek Square Mall is the place. It mixes well-known department stores with high-end retailers, so fashion fans have plenty to work with. You’ll find Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Pottery Barn here, plus a few gourmet restaurants for when you need a break. It’s a chic spot with a wide range of upscale brands under one roof.

3. 2ND Street District – Boutique Bliss:

For Austin’s own flavor of luxury shopping, head to the 2ND Street District. It’s a walkable area full of upscale boutiques and designer stores that lean more independent than the big malls. You’ll find curated collections at stores like ByGeorge, League of Rebels, and Sikara & Co., where local and international designers meet. It’s as eclectic as the city itself.

4. The Arboretum at Great Hills – Serenity and Style:

If you’d rather shop somewhere quieter, The Arboretum at Great Hills is worth a visit. It’s an outdoor center surrounded by trees and greenery, which makes for a more relaxed backdrop than a typical mall. You’ll find brands like Sephora, Chico’s, and Kendra Scott here, and plenty of cafes nearby to unwind in afterward, or take a stroll around the beautifully landscaped grounds.

Whether you’re browsing the boutiques of the 2ND Street District, walking The Domain, or spending an afternoon at Barton Creek Square, Austin’s luxury malls and stores cover a lot of ground for a city that’s better known for food trucks and live music.

If you’re thinking about buying or selling a home in Austin, shopping is just one small piece of what makes a neighborhood work for you. I’m happy to talk through what different parts of the city offer, from The Domain to South Congress, and help you find the right fit. Reach out any time.
