Your Guide to Taste Highland Lakes

September 2, 2026 by Robbie English, REALTOR, Broker, ABR, AHWD, BBA, C2EX, CRB, E-PRO, GRI, MRP, PSA, RENE, RPR, SFR, SRS, TAHS, TBS, TLS

Kingsland’s calendar has AquaBoom for the Fourth of July and a quiet local arts scene the rest of the year, but Taste Highland Lakes is the newer addition that’s given the town a genuine food-and-wine event of its own, separate from the lake entirely.

Taste Highland Lakes is put together by the Kingsland/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce as a curated food and wine festival, held at the Legends Community in Kingsland over a single afternoon. It brings together Hill Country wine, food from local chefs, cocktails, coffee, and artisan vendors, all set to live music — a genuinely different kind of event than the outdoor, all-day scale of AquaBoom. The festival is built as a fundraiser as much as a food event: proceeds support Kingsland’s youth programs and local schools, which gives it a direct, tangible tie to the community it’s held in.

TLDR (Too Long; Didn’t Read): Your Guide to Taste Highland Lakes

  • Taste Highland Lakes is a food and wine festival hosted by the Kingsland/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce.
  • It’s held at the Legends Community in Kingsland, typically running from late morning into the early afternoon.
  • The event features Hill Country wine, chef-driven bites, cocktails, coffee, artisan shopping, and live music.
  • Proceeds go toward Kingsland youth programs and local schools.
  • It’s a relatively new addition to the Highland Lakes calendar, giving Kingsland a genuine culinary event distinct from AquaBoom or the House of Arts and Crafts.

Your Guide to Taste Highland Lakes

What It’s Like Living in Kingsland Around Taste Highland Lakes

Because Taste Highland Lakes is a single-venue, single-afternoon event rather than a townwide festival, its footprint on daily life is small — extra traffic around the Legends Community for a few hours, then back to normal. For residents, it’s a welcome, lower-key addition to Kingsland’s calendar: a chance to enjoy a genuinely curated food and wine event without the crowds of AquaBoom weekend, and to support local schools in the process.

What to Consider If You’re Buying in Kingsland

Taste Highland Lakes adds to a picture that’s worth understanding about Kingsland overall:

  • Kingsland’s calendar keeps growing beyond AquaBoom. Between the House of Arts and Crafts Fall Show and now Taste Highland Lakes, the town has real, varied programming outside its one famous holiday weekend.
  • A genuine local philanthropic culture. Events built to fund youth programs and schools say something real about how the Kingsland community supports itself.
  • Proximity to the Legends Community. If events like this matter to you, it’s worth knowing where in Kingsland that venue sits relative to the neighborhoods you’re considering.
  • A softer entry point to Kingsland’s social calendar. If AquaBoom’s scale feels like a lot, a smaller event like this is a good way to get a feel for the community without the crowds.

How I Can Help

Kingsland is one of the towns I work most closely, and I can walk you through what its full calendar — AquaBoom and the quieter events alike — actually looks like across the year. Start with current Kingsland, TX homes for sale, or schedule a consultation.
