Your Guide to Beer by the Bay at Horseshoe Bay Resort

August 1, 2026 by Robbie English, REALTOR, Broker, ABR, AHWD, BBA, C2EX, CRB, E-PRO, GRI, MRP, PSA, RENE, RPR, SFR, SRS, TAHS, TBS, TLS

Horseshoe Bay Resort now runs a genuine festival every few months — balloons in spring, this one in summer, wine and jazz in fall. Beer by the Bay is the resort’s answer to a proper outdoor country music festival, and it’s grown into one of the bigger draws on the Highland Lakes calendar.

Beer by the Bay turns the Live Oak Lawn at Horseshoe Bay Resort into an outdoor music festival for two nights each August, with a full lineup of touring country artists each evening running from about 6:30 to 11 p.m. Recent years have consistently pulled in nationally touring Texas country and red dirt acts, treating the resort’s own grounds as a genuine concert venue rather than background entertainment. Beer tastings from Texas breweries and an all-you-can-eat chef-prepared spread round out the night, and the festival offers tiered packages, from standard festival tickets to VIP experiences bundled with an on-site stay.

Beer by the Bay is now one of three signature annual festivals Horseshoe Bay Resort runs, alongside Balloons Over Horseshoe Bay in the spring and Wine, Dine & Jazz in the fall. Together they give Horseshoe Bay a real, recurring events calendar spread across three seasons — something few other Highland Lakes towns can match, since it’s all built and staffed by one resort rather than a patchwork of local organizers.

Your Guide to Beer by the Bay at Horseshoe Bay Resort

TLDR (Too Long; Didn’t Read): Your Guide to Beer by the Bay at Horseshoe Bay Resort

  • Beer by the Bay is an annual August music festival on the Live Oak Lawn at Horseshoe Bay Resort, now well into its second decade.
  • It runs two nights, roughly 6:30 to 11 p.m., each with a full lineup of touring country artists.
  • The festival pairs the music with beer tastings from Texas breweries and an all-you-can-eat, chef-prepared spread.
  • Package options range from single-night festival tickets up to VIP experiences bundled with resort accommodations.
  • It’s the third of Horseshoe Bay Resort’s three signature annual festivals, alongside Balloons Over Horseshoe Bay in spring and Wine, Dine & Jazz in fall.

What It’s Like Living in Horseshoe Bay During the Festival

Because Beer by the Bay is ticketed and concentrated on the resort’s own Live Oak Lawn, it doesn’t spill into the surrounding town the way a free downtown festival would. Residents near the resort will hear the music carrying across the grounds for two evenings and see heavier resort traffic for the weekend, but the disruption stays largely contained to resort property. For homeowners who actually attend, it’s a genuine, high-caliber amenity within walking or golf-cart distance; for those who don’t, it’s easy enough to simply not think about.

What to Consider If You’re Buying in Horseshoe Bay

Beer by the Bay adds one more data point to the same pattern worth understanding about Horseshoe Bay specifically:

  • Three real festivals a year, not one. Balloons Over Horseshoe Bay, Beer by the Bay, and Wine, Dine & Jazz together make Horseshoe Bay’s events calendar genuinely comparable to a small city’s, not just a golf resort’s.
  • This is what the premium buys. If a resort calendar at this level appeals to you, Horseshoe Bay’s pricing reflects real, ongoing investment in exactly this kind of programming.
  • Proximity to the resort, not downtown. As with the resort’s other events, being close to Horseshoe Bay Resort itself matters more here than being close to any town center.
  • Worth comparing honestly against quieter towns. If three annual festivals a year isn’t the pace you want, a quieter Highland Lakes town at a lower price point may be the better fit — I’ll tell you either way.
