Why Robbie English is the Realtor You Can Trust in Austin

September 12, 2024 by Robbie English, REALTOR, Broker, ABR, AHWD, BBA, C2EX, CRB, E-PRO, GRI, MRP, PSA, RENE, RPR, SFR, SRS, TAHS, TBS, TLS Leave a Comment

Credentials alone don’t make an agent worth trusting, but they’re a reasonable starting point for checking whether someone actually invests in their craft. I’m Robbie English, REALTOR, Broker with Uncommon Realty, and here’s the specific, verifiable version of what I bring to a transaction, not just the general pitch.

Actual Credentials, Not Just “Experience”

Beyond the base REALTOR designation, I hold ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative), AHWD (At Home With Diversity), CRB (Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager), C2EX (Commitment to Excellence), E-PRO, GRI (Graduate, REALTOR Institute), MRP (Military Relocation Professional), PSA (Pricing Strategy Advisor), RENE (Real Estate Negotiation Expert), RPR (Realtors Property Resource), SFR (Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource), and SRS (Seller Representative Specialist). Each of these requires actual coursework and testing, not just a fee, and each one maps to a specific transaction skill: PSA and RPR to pricing accuracy, RENE to negotiation, SFR to distressed-property transactions, MRP to relocation and military timelines.

National Speaker and Instructor Role

Beyond my own transactions, I teach other agents across the country as a national real estate speaker and instructor. Training other agents means staying current on contract changes, market shifts, and negotiation strategy at a level beyond what’s needed to just close your own deals, since you have to be able to explain the reasoning clearly enough for someone else to apply it.

Broker, Not Just Agent

I hold a broker’s license, which requires additional education and experience beyond a standard agent license and carries additional legal responsibility. Working with a broker rather than a newer agent means working with someone who has met the state’s higher bar for real estate practice, not just someone actively licensed.

Where I Actually Work

My practice is centered on Austin and the surrounding Central Texas markets I actually know well: Cedar Park, Round Rock, Leander, Georgetown, and the greater Highland Lakes area. That matters because pricing strategy, negotiation norms, and inventory patterns genuinely differ between these markets, and an agent spread too thin across unfamiliar areas can’t give you the same specific, current read on a given neighborhood.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a real estate agent and a broker?

A broker has completed additional education and experience requirements beyond a standard agent license and carries additional legal responsibility for transactions. Every broker was once an agent, but not every agent has taken the additional steps to become a broker.

Do real estate designations like ABR or CRB actually matter?

They require real coursework and testing rather than just paying a fee, and each one maps to a specific skill, whether that’s buyer representation, brokerage management, or negotiation. They’re a reasonable signal that an agent has invested time beyond the minimum licensing requirement.

What areas do you actually work in?

Austin and the surrounding Central Texas markets, including Cedar Park, Round Rock, Leander, Georgetown, and the Highland Lakes area.

If you want to talk through a specific buying or selling situation, that conversation is worth having early, before you’ve committed to a listing price or an offer.
