What Round Rock actually offers
Round Rock sits in Williamson County, split by I-35, with US-79 running east to SH-130 and giving you a fast way around the interstate traffic. Dell Diamond and Old Settlers Park, home of the Round Rock Express, pull in more than a million visitors a year between them, and Kalahari Resorts opened its Round Rock location in November 2020 as the largest indoor waterpark in the country. Old Town Round Rock still has the small-town downtown feel with local restaurants and shops, while newer master-planned neighborhoods like Teravista and Forest Creek give you golf courses, pools, and community trails built into the neighborhood.
What to expect from the housing itself
Round Rock is served by Round Rock ISD, and homes here run the full range. You’ll find established 1990s neighborhoods with mature trees close to I-35, newer construction farther east and north, and everything from starter ranch homes to larger two-story builds in the golf course communities. Round Rock is also Dell Technologies’ headquarters city, which means a real chunk of the buyer pool here is shopping for a shorter commute to a specific employer rather than simply a lower price than Austin. That changes which streets and school zones tend to move fastest, so it’s worth asking about when we start touring.
