Top-Rated Listing Agents for Austin

Austin real estate isn’t one market. Downtown high-rises, South Austin bungalows, and the newer subdivisions out past 183 all sell differently, to different buyers, at different paces. So when someone searches for a “top-rated” listing agent here, that label needs to mean something more than a claim on a website. I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty, and I think sellers deserve to know exactly what’s behind that kind of claim before they hire someone.

TL;DR: Top-Rated Listing Agents for Austin

  • A real “top-rated” claim should be backed by license status, designations, and a verifiable track record, not just a headline.
  • I’ve spent more than 40 years in Central Texas real estate and hold advanced designations including ABR, CRB, GRI, and PSA.
  • Since 2016 I’ve taught contracts, negotiation, and pricing strategy to agents and brokers nationally.
  • Austin’s sub-markets move differently, so experience across the whole metro matters more than a single neighborhood specialty.
  • I handle pricing, marketing, and negotiation on my listings directly.

What “top-rated” should actually mean

Anyone can put “top-rated” in a headline. What actually backs it up is a Texas broker license, real advanced designations from organizations like the National Association of REALTORS, and a career you can look into rather than take on faith. I’m a licensed Broker and Designated REALTOR, and I hold a stack of advanced certifications, including Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Brokerage Manager (CRB), Graduate REALTOR Institute (GRI), Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA), and Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE), among others. Those aren’t decorative. Each one required coursework and testing in a specific part of the job, pricing, negotiation, brokerage management, that shows up directly in how I run a listing.

40 years across a market that keeps changing

I’ve worked in Central Texas real estate for more than four decades, long enough to have sold through multiple market cycles, not just the recent runs. Austin’s mix of buyers, relocating tech workers, UT-adjacent renters turned buyers, families moving out from the urban core, means a listing strategy that worked in one part of the city can miss entirely in another. Knowing the difference between what moves a South Austin bungalow and what moves a downtown condo isn’t something you pick up in a year or two.

Teaching other agents, nationally

Since 2016 I’ve traveled around Texas and the country as a national real estate instructor, teaching other agents and brokers on contracts, negotiation, agency relationships, ethics, and pricing strategy. Preparing that material and standing in front of a room of working agents keeps me sharper about my own listings than I’d be otherwise. It’s also a fair thing for an Austin seller to ask about: has this agent’s knowledge been tested by anyone besides their own clients?

Questions worth asking before you hire a “top-rated” agent

Before you take that label at face value, ask a few direct questions: How long have they actually been licensed, and where? What designations do they hold, and what did earning them require? Do they handle pricing and negotiation personally, or hand it off? Have they sold in the specific part of Austin you’re in, not just “Austin” broadly? A real answer to each of those tells you more than a badge ever will.

If you’re selling in Austin and want a straight answer to those questions about my own background, reach out and I’ll walk you through it.
