Move to Kingsland

Kingsland sits at the confluence of the Colorado and Llano rivers in Llano County, right where Lake LBJ begins. That location — quieter than Horseshoe Bay, less built-up than Marble Falls — is a big part of why buyers choose it. I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Highland Lakes Realty, and I help buyers move to Kingsland for retirement, vacation homes, and full-time relocations out of Austin and other bigger cities.

Quick Facts

  • Kingsland sits at the meeting point of the Colorado and Llano rivers, where Lake LBJ starts.
  • It’s minutes from Horseshoe Bay’s resort amenities and a short drive to Marble Falls.
  • The AquaBoom festival over the Fourth of July has run for more than 50 years and draws crowds from across the Hill Country.
  • I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Highland Lakes Realty — decades of real estate experience, plus work as a national instructor training other agents.

Location and Access to the Highland Lakes

Living in Kingsland puts you close to Horseshoe Bay’s golf courses and spas without the resort-town price tag, and Marble Falls’ restaurants and shops are a short drive away too. Kingsland itself stays quieter — river frontage, smaller lots, and a slower pace than either neighbor.

Why People Choose to Slow Down Here

It’s not only retirees moving to Kingsland these days. I’ve worked with remote professionals and families who wanted more outdoor access and a lower cost of living than Austin without giving up a reasonable drive back into the city. Mild winters and long, warm summers make the rivers and lake usable most of the year.

AquaBoom and the Local Calendar

Kingsland’s biggest event is the Kingsland AquaBoom, a multi-day Fourth of July celebration that’s run for more than five decades — parades, a barbecue cookoff, a poker run on the river, and fireworks over Lake LBJ. It’s free to attend and draws people from across Llano County and beyond. Smaller events run throughout the year too, but AquaBoom is the one longtime residents plan around.

Working With Me

Kingsland’s market is small and specific — river frontage, lake access, and inland lots all price differently, and it’s easy to overpay if you don’t know the area well. I’ve spent decades in real estate, plus work as a national speaker and instructor training other agents, and I put that knowledge to work for buyers here specifically. I listen to what you’re trying to accomplish first, then narrow the search instead of showing you every listing that technically fits.

Ready to Make Your Move?

If Kingsland sounds like the right fit — whether you want river frontage, a quieter inland lot, or something in between — reach out to Robbie English and the team at Uncommon Highland Lakes Realty. I’ll help you figure out what’s actually available and what it’s worth.
