East Austin TX Real Estate Brokers

I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty, and I work as a broker throughout East Austin. If you’re buying or selling here, a broker brings something an agent alone doesn’t: the ability to handle contract issues, negotiations, and transactions that need more oversight without waiting on someone else’s sign-off.

East Austin isn’t a single market. It’s a patchwork of blocks at very different stages of change, from streets that were rebuilt a decade ago to ones that still look much like they did fifty years ago. Understanding that block-by-block variation, and pricing and negotiating accordingly, is most of what separates a good outcome here from a mediocre one.

What Being a Broker Means for You

As a broker, I take on East Austin transactions that need more than a standard resale process — new construction and infill builds, contract issues that surface mid-escrow, and multi-offer situations where someone needs to be able to make a decision quickly. I’m also a national real estate speaker and instructor, which keeps me current on how contracts and negotiations play out in markets well beyond East Austin, and that perspective is part of what I bring to every deal here.

I won’t walk through my exact pricing and negotiation strategy on a web page — that’s part of what you’re hiring when you bring me in — but I’ll go over exactly how it applies to your property once we talk.

The History Behind the Market

East Austin’s current desirability is a relatively recent development. For most of the twentieth century, the area east of what’s now I-35 was where city policy directed Black and Latino residents to live, separate from the rest of Austin. The redevelopment and price growth of the past two decades has been faster here than almost anywhere else in the city, and it hasn’t happened evenly — some streets have changed dramatically, others much less so. Knowing which is which on any given block is part of pricing a deal correctly here.

For Sellers

If you’re selling in East Austin, the right price and marketing strategy depends heavily on what’s actually happening on your specific street, not a broad neighborhood average. I look at recent, comparable sales close to your property, not just anywhere with an East Austin zip code.

For Buyers

If you’re buying, I’ll help you understand what you’re paying for on a given block, whether that’s proximity to redevelopment near the Saltillo District, lot size and zoning that affects what can be built next door, or school zoning. You should know what you’re buying into, not just the listing price.

Let’s Talk

Whether you’re buying or selling in East Austin, I’d rather have a direct conversation about your specific street and situation than give you generic advice. Reach out and let’s talk.
