Your Guide to Main Street Market Day & the Starving Artist Show in Marble Falls

August 29, 2026 by Robbie English, REALTOR, Broker, ABR, AHWD, BBA, C2EX, CRB, E-PRO, GRI, MRP, PSA, RENE, RPR, SFR, SRS, TAHS, TBS, TLS

Marble Falls’ Main Street already carries a car show, an Oktoberfest, and most of the town’s Christmas season. Market Day and the Starving Artist Show add a recurring, lower-key layer underneath all of that — the kind of event that happens often enough to become part of the town’s normal rhythm rather than a once-a-year headline.

Market Day on Main closes down blocks of Historic Downtown Main Street several times a year, typically in March, September, and December, and fills them with more than 100 vendors running from about 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s built specifically around handmade goods — artisan vendors have to meet a 50 percent handmade threshold, which keeps the market genuinely different from a flea market or a mass-produced craft fair. Expect jewelry, paintings, pottery, handcrafted clothing, soaps and candles, and woodworking, alongside baked goods and the usual festival food. The Starving Artist Show runs in the same spirit, giving working artists a direct-to-public venue for original work rather than routing sales through a gallery.

Your Guide to Main Street Market Day & the Starving Artist Show in Marble Falls

TLDR (Too Long; Didn’t Read): Your Guide to Main Street Market Day & the Starving Artist Show in Marble Falls

  • Market Day on Main takes over Historic Downtown Main Street multiple times a year, typically in March, September, and December.
  • More than 100 street vendors, artists, and makers set up for the day, running roughly 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Artisan vendors are required to sell at least 50 percent handmade goods — jewelry, paintings, crafts, clothing, soaps, candles, and woodworking.
  • The Starving Artist Show runs alongside it, giving working artists a dedicated venue to sell original work directly to the public.
  • It’s pet-friendly and free to attend, which keeps it one of the more low-friction, walkable events on Marble Falls’ calendar.

What It’s Like Living in Marble Falls Around Market Day

Because Market Day happens multiple times a year rather than once, it reads less as a disruption and more as a predictable rhythm of downtown life. Main Street sees vendor traffic and pedestrian crowds for the day, and downtown parking gets tighter than usual, but it wraps up in the afternoon and the schedule is public well in advance. For residents who live downtown, it’s one of the easier events to simply plan around — or to walk down to on a Saturday without much forethought.

What to Consider If You’re Buying in Marble Falls

Market Day is a good example of the depth behind Marble Falls’ downtown, beyond the marquee festivals:

  • It happens multiple times a year. Unlike a single annual festival, Market Day gives downtown Marble Falls a recurring reason to be busy and walkable throughout the year.
  • It’s genuinely artisan-focused. A 50 percent handmade requirement says something real about the kind of downtown commerce Marble Falls is cultivating, beyond big-box retail.
  • Downtown walkability keeps compounding. Between this, the car show, Oktoberfest, and the holiday season, a property near Main Street gets real, repeated use out of its location.
  • Pet-friendly, low-barrier events add up. Small, easy-to-attend recurring events like this are part of what makes a town feel lived-in day to day, not just on festival weekends.

How I Can Help

I work Marble Falls real estate through Uncommon Highland Lakes Realty and can help you find a property that puts you close to Main Street’s full calendar — recurring markets included, not just the big annual events. Start with the Marble Falls housing market, or schedule a consultation.
