Crestview Homes For Sale

Crestview is one of the mid-century neighborhoods in North-Central Austin that’s held onto its character while everything around it changed. It sits between Burnet Road and North Lamar Boulevard, roughly 10-15 minutes from downtown, and it’s walkable in a way a lot of Austin isn’t — the MetroRail Crestview Station at North Lamar and Justin Lane puts downtown about 25 minutes away by train if you’d rather skip the drive. Search the current Crestview listings below, and reach out anytime if you want my take on a specific block.

Living in Crestview

Crestview was developed starting in 1947, and a lot of the original homes were built for returning World War II veterans using G.I. Bill financing — that’s part of why you’ll still see so many small, well-built ranch homes on tree-lined streets, now mixed in with remodels and new construction on the same lots. The Crestview Shopping Center opened in 1951 and is still a neighborhood fixture. It’s zoned to Austin ISD — Gullett or Wooten Elementary depending on your address, then Burnet Middle School and McCallum High School, with LASA available as a magnet option at McCallum.

The neighborhood’s boundaries run from Wooten and West Anderson Lane to the north, Allandale and Burnet Road to the west, Brentwood and Justin Lane to the south, and the Highland neighborhood and North Lamar Boulevard to the east — a compact footprint that’s part of why you can walk to a coffee shop or restaurant from most streets in Crestview.

Housing options in Crestview

Lots here are smaller than what you’ll find in the suburbs, which keeps the neighborhood walkable but also means a lot of buyers are choosing between an original mid-century home to update themselves or a newer build or remodel that’s already done the work. Both show up regularly on the market, so it comes down to how much of a project you want to take on.
