Liberty Hill sits on Highway 29 in the Hill Country, about 15 miles west of Georgetown and 33 miles northwest of downtown Austin — far enough out that lots run bigger and pools are common even outside the top price tier. Most of the city runs through Liberty Hill ISD, and Ranch Road 1869 cuts east-west through town if you’re commuting toward Cedar Park or Leander instead of straight into Austin.
I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty, and I show pool listings out here regularly enough to know which neighborhoods actually have the inventory and which just get filtered into the search by accident.
Where the pool inventory actually is
Santa Rita Ranch is the biggest master-planned community out here and the place I find the most pool listings, both builder-installed and owner-added on the larger lots. A few minutes away on Ronald Reagan Blvd, Rancho Sienna carries a Georgetown mailing address but feeds into Liberty Hill ISD schools — it’s easy to overlook if you’re searching by city name alone, and it’s worth including if a Liberty Hill pool search comes up short. If Liberty Hill’s own inventory is thin when you’re looking, the neighboring Georgetown and Leander markets are worth cross-checking too.
What makes Liberty Hill worth the drive
Liberty Hill calls itself the Sculpture Capital of Texas — in 1976, a group of international artists spent a summer here creating large-scale sculptures that are still on permanent display at Liberty Hill High School, the only sculpture park of its kind. It’s a small-town detail, but it tells you something real about the place: this is still a town with its own identity, not just another subdivision grid stapled onto the edge of Austin. That trade-off — a longer drive in exchange for bigger lots, lower density, and room for a pool — is exactly why I send buyers out here when Cedar Park or Leander inventory doesn’t fit their budget. Williamson County has been extending and widening the roads feeding Liberty Hill for years now to keep pace with growth along the Highway 29 corridor, so the drive time I quote you today is worth double-checking again closer to your move-in date — it’s generally gotten shorter, not longer, as those projects finish.
