Lakeway sits right on Lake Travis, about 25 minutes west of downtown Austin along RM 620 and Highway 71, and it’s where I send buyers who want lake access, golf, and Hill Country views without leaving the Austin area. The whole city is zoned to Lake Travis ISD, and it’s built around two 18-hole courses – Live Oak and Yaupon, both part of the Lakeway Resort – plus direct access to Lake Travis for boating and swimming.

Lakeway’s neighborhoods
Lakeway isn’t one style of home or one price point – it’s a collection of distinct sections, and which one fits you depends on what you actually want out of the lake and the golf courses. Flintrock Falls and The Hills in Lakeway are the two neighborhoods I show most to golf-focused buyers, both built around private courses with gated or guard-gated sections. Serene Hills is where I look first for newer construction on the north side of town, and Rough Hollow, just west of the city limits, adds a marina and a more resort-style HOA if being on the water matters more than being on the course.
Housing options in Lakeway
Home styles and prices vary a lot by section – you’ll find patio homes and condos near the golf courses, and multi-acre lake-view estates on the bluffs above Lake Travis. Lake Travis ISD serves the entire city, which is one reason families move here even when golf and boating aren’t the draw. If you’re comparing Lakeway to how it fits into the broader Highland Lakes and Hill Country market, or want a rundown of which section suits your budget and timeline, that’s exactly the kind of conversation I have with buyers every week – reach out anytime.
