Where Lakeway’s townhomes actually are
The Landing at Lakeway, built by Clark Wilson Builder, is a 75-unit townhome community in the center of Lakeway that finished construction in 2023 and has since sold out — anything you see there now is a resale. In West Lakeway, Rough Hollow has several distinct sections including The Villas and Water’s Edge, with Lake Travis and Hill Country views and access to the community’s yacht club, marina, and pools; townhomes there start in the $400s and run up into custom waterfront estates well past $3 million. And Flintrock Falls, built around an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, is one of the more upscale options if golf access matters to you.
Beyond location and amenities, the practical draw of a townhome here is the same as anywhere: less exterior maintenance than a single-family home, often with the HOA handling landscaping and sometimes roof and exterior upkeep, which matters if you’re not looking to spend weekends on yard work.
Lakeway itself
Lakeway sits along RM 620 and Highway 71, borders Lake Travis, and is zoned to Lake Travis ISD, which carries an A rating from the state. It’s about 30-40 minutes to downtown Austin under normal traffic, closer to 45 during peak commute hours. Beyond the lake itself, the draw for most buyers is the combination of four golf courses, three marinas — Lakeway Marina, Hurst Harbor, and the marina at Rough Hollow — a private airstrip, and the Hill Country Galleria for shopping and dining, plus a slower pace than you’d get closer into the city.
Which community fits you
If you want walkability to restaurants and shops, The Landing is hard to beat. If lake views and marina access matter more, Rough Hollow is where I’d start looking. And if golf is the priority, Flintrock Falls is worth a look even if inventory there is thin. I can tell you honestly which of these has anything listed right now, since availability shifts fast in all three.
