Why I Write Real Estate Blog Articles

There’s a lot of noise out there. Real estate misinformation spreads fast — online, in casual conversation, and sometimes from people who should know better. That’s why I write real estate blog articles: I want to share information people can actually trust, and clear up confusion where I can.

Buying a house once, or Googling “how to sell my home fast,” doesn’t make someone an expert. I’ve been in this business for over 40 years, and I’ll tell you plainly: I still don’t know everything. Real estate isn’t something you master with a blog post and a video. It takes years of hands-on experience and a habit of continuing to learn.

Why I Write Real Estate Blog Articles

Misinformation Is a Real Problem

I don’t write for vanity. I write because people get led astray by bad advice — outdated articles, social media takes, and sometimes even other agents who mean well but got it wrong. Over the years I’ve taught agents who’d been licensed for 10, 15, even 20+ years and never knew certain rules existed, simply because no one had ever pointed them to the actual rulebook.

What I See Every Day

Clients rely on their agent for guidance. When that guidance is based on assumption instead of fact, the consequences land on the client — a bad pricing decision, a missed contract deadline, a legal misstep. Writing is one way I can put researched, reliable information in front of people before they need it, not after something’s already gone wrong.

Teaching the Teachers

As a national real estate speaker and instructor, I’ve stood in front of thousands of agents across the country. I’ve watched veteran agents — people who’ve been doing this longer than a lot of houses have had the same roof — tell me, “Robbie, I never knew that.” That’s not a personal failure on their part. It’s a gap in how this industry trains people, and it’s part of why I write: not just for agents, but for the buyers, sellers, and investors trying to make sense of their own transaction.

Opinion Isn’t Expertise

There’s a real difference between having an opinion and having knowledge, and it’s easy to confuse the two after reading one blog post or watching one video. When I write, I’m working from four decades of hands-on experience, not secondhand talking points. I try to explain not just what to do, but why — why a clause exists in a contract, why timing matters in a listing agreement, why certain processes work the way they do.

Why This Matters to Me

I’ve never been interested in ego-driven sales or stacking up awards. What I care about is people walking away from their transaction better informed than when they started — whether or not they ever become my client. Sharing what I know, clearly and honestly, is how I try to raise the bar a little on an industry that could use it.

A Bit About Me

I’m Robbie English, REALTOR and Broker at Uncommon Realty. I’ve been in real estate for four decades, and I still teach other agents around the country — negotiation, contracts, representation. When you work with me and my team, you’re working with people who know the rules, follow them, and can explain the “why” behind them, not just the “what.”

The Real Reason I Write

This goes beyond marketing. People’s finances and futures are tied up in real estate decisions, and I’ve watched too many people stumble because they trusted a half-truth or a hot take instead of taking the time to look something up. I write because someone needs to put the accurate version out there — for my clients, for the agents I train, and for anyone trying to make a smart decision in a business that has a lot of noise in it.

If you’ve ever read something online and come away more confused than when you started, or gotten advice from someone who didn’t actually know what they were talking about, you’re not alone. That’s exactly the gap I’m trying to fill.

Let’s make your next move the right one.
