Your Guide to Fall Festivals in Llano County

September 3, 2026 by Robbie English, REALTOR, Broker, ABR, AHWD, BBA, C2EX, CRB, E-PRO, GRI, MRP, PSA, RENE, RPR, SFR, SRS, TAHS, TBS, TLS

Llano isn’t a town I work as often as Burnet, Marble Falls, or Kingsland, but it sits right along the Llano River just west of the Highland Lakes, and its fall calendar is genuinely worth knowing about if you’re looking anywhere on that side of the region. Here are the four traditions that make up Llano County’s autumn.

Your Guide to Fall Festivals in Llano County

TLDR (Too Long; Didn’t Read): Your Guide to Fall Festivals in Llano County

  • Llano Texas Music Fest is a two-day live music festival at Robinson City Park, typically held in late September.
  • The Llano River Pumpkin Float lets families float carved pumpkins down the Llano River from Badu Park near the Roy Inks Bridge.
  • Llano Oktoberfest, hosted by the Llano Fine Arts Guild, leans into the town’s genuine German heritage.
  • The Llano Wild Game Dinner is a fall fundraiser featuring wild and exotic game, with live and silent auctions, typically held in mid-September.
  • All four are organized locally rather than imported, and together they give Llano a real, distinct fall identity separate from the Highland Lakes towns to its east.

Llano Texas Music Fest

Llano Texas Music Fest is a two-day festival built around Texas live music, held at Robinson City Park in town. It leans into the same singer-songwriter and Texas country tradition that runs through a lot of Hill Country music culture, with a lineup that draws people in from well outside the county for the weekend.

Llano River Pumpkin Float

The Pumpkin Float is the kind of event that’s hard to explain until you’ve seen it: families bring carved jack-o-lanterns to Badu Park, near the Roy Inks Bridge, and set them loose to float down the Llano River after dark. It’s simple, genuinely charming, and exactly the kind of small-town tradition that doesn’t translate well to a bigger city.

Llano Oktoberfest

Llano’s German heritage runs deep, and the town’s Oktoberfest, hosted at the Llano Fine Arts Guild, leans into it directly rather than treating it as a generic fall-festival theme. It’s a smaller, more local event than the Oktoberfests in Burnet or Marble Falls, tied specifically to Llano’s own settlement history.

Llano Wild Game Dinner

The Wild Game Dinner is a fall fundraiser built around exactly what the name says — a dinner featuring wild and exotic game, paired with live and silent auctions. It’s typically held in mid-September, ahead of the rest of the county’s fall calendar, and it draws the kind of crowd that reflects Llano County’s genuine ranching and hunting culture.

What It’s Like Living Near Llano During Fall

None of these four events create the kind of citywide disruption something like Burnet’s Bluebonnet Festival or Marble Falls’ LakeFest does — Llano is a smaller town, and each event is sized to match. What they add up to, though, is a real, packed fall calendar for a town this size, spread across several weekends rather than concentrated into one big draw. For anyone considering property on the Llano side of the Highland Lakes, it’s worth knowing the town has this much going on before assuming it’s quieter than it actually is.

What to Consider If You’re Looking Near Llano

Llano isn’t a market I work as heavily as Burnet, Kingsland, or Marble Falls, but it comes up often enough for buyers looking at the western side of the region that it’s worth being straightforward about:

  • It’s genuinely its own town, not a Highland Lakes suburb. Llano has its own county seat, its own river, and its own community calendar — not simply an extension of Burnet or Kingsland.
  • Proximity to Kingsland and Lake LBJ. Llano sits close enough to Kingsland that it’s a realistic option if you want small-town Hill Country character without direct lake frontage.
  • The Llano River itself. Unlike the reservoir lakes that define most of the Highland Lakes, the Llano River is a free-flowing river — a different kind of water access with a different set of considerations.
  • Worth a direct look, not just a drive-through. If Llano’s calendar and character appeal to you, I’d rather set up an honest conversation about what’s actually available there than assume it’s not worth discussing.

How I Can Help

If Llano is genuinely in the mix for your search, I can point you toward what I know about the area and connect you with the right resources, or help you compare it honestly against Kingsland and the rest of the Highland Lakes I work more directly. Schedule a consultation and we’ll talk through what actually fits, or start with current listings across the region.
